A block of rooms is being held at the Delta St. John’s for CHES delegates at a rate of $193 single or double (Delta Room) and $213 single or double (Delta Premier) plus taxes (13% Provincial Sales Tax, 3% Marketing Tourism Fee). To receive the conference rate, please mention “Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society” when making your reservation. All registrants are required to make their own accommodation arrangements directly with the hotel. Any unbooked rooms will be released for general sale August 20, 2009.

Travel/Transportation

St. John’s International Airport  Six airlines currently offer scheduled passenger service year-round – Air Canada, WestJet, Continental Airlines, Provincial Airlines, Air Labrador, and Air Saint-Pierre.  Please note: specify St. John’s Newfoundland to your travel agent (Every conference at least one delegate ends up in Saint John New Brunswick!). 

Ground Travel

Taxi.  St. John’s International Airport is served by City Wide Taxi.  Taxi rates to hotels in the local area are charged according to zones. The fare from the airport to the Delta St. John’s is currently $22.30.. Keep in mind return fares from your hotel to the airport may vary as rates are not zoned outside the airport property.

Car Rental.  The airport has six car rental companies on-site to cover all your transportation needs. (Avis, Budget, Hertz, National, Thrifty, and enterprise.  We recommend that you contact the car rental companies as early as possible to ensure availability, especially if you are traveling during the peak tourism season (May through September).
